After working as a schools specialist for four government departments in three states and then a private practice in Western Australian,  Ian Dewar established the firm Ian Dewar & Associates in 1976 with the express intention of working on a variety of middle sized building types for non-government clients having interesting and specific requirements.

This practice now has over 35 years of experience in the full range of residential, commercial, institutional, heritage and conservation fields, always at a modest scale.

Over the years it has won awards from the Royal Australian Institute of Architects and from various statutory organisations but more importantly has won the respect of thousands of satisfied clients on commissions both large and small.

To enable us to serve well our clients and the community at large, a program of ongoing formal professional development is followed so that official registration is maintained with the following professional associations:

The Architects Board of Western Australia (ABWA)

The Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) at both state and national levels.
